The college is situated in the heart of the city on a sprawling campus of 3.4 acres of lush green gardens & trees. The emblem of the college symbolizes the aim of the institution to spread the LIGHT OF KNOWLEDGE through women into the world at large.

In consonance with the declared vision, mission & goals of the institution, the College strives to bring about an all-round development. In marching towards this end, the college offers conventional as well as modern courses at UG level. At PG level professional courses like MBA & MCA are offered apart from other demand based courses like M.Com, M.Sc(CS) and PG Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics to meet the range of challenges in a rapidly changing market scenario.

The IQAC offers value added courses in Advanced Computer Programmes, Communication Skills and Personality Development; Employability Advantage and Career Development Programme and Foundation Course in Women's Studies. Additionally under the convergence scheme with IGNOU the college offers Certificate Courses in Lab Techniques, Tourism Studiesand Consumer Protection.

Regular sessions on Yoga and Physical Fitness ensure that the right emphasis is laid on building a healthy society.

Social concerns too are high on our agenda. The college has a CARE group which provides financial assistance to hard-working, regular and deserving candidates. Our NSS unit regularly reaches out to slum dwellers, old people’s homes and other needy causes. Our NCC unit has active battalion and participates in National Parade.

Kasturba Gandhi Degree & PG College for Women is truly proud of its panel of teaching and Non-teaching staff. Most of the Teachers are well qualified academicians, Ph.Ds, M.Phil and other research scholars. Several teachers are the recipients of the "Meritorious Teacher Award" from the A.P State Government.

The college boasts several state-of the-Art Laboratories for English, Nutrition and Dietetics, Computers, Commerce, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Bio-technology, Micro-Biology, Genetics etc. It takes pride in its upgraded library that offers digital access in addition to its extensive book resources.
